Tara Howley is one of Ireland’s leading multi-instrumentalists. A highly accomplished musician and singer, Tara plays 14 instruments and is a multiple All-Ireland champion. She spent seven years touring the world as lead uilleann piper with Riverdance and recently joined Celtic Woman for their symphony tour, performing on some of the most renowned stages internationally. Another string to her bow is dance, Tara proudly hails from Kilfenora, Co. Clare, and toured for five years as a dancer with the renowned Kilfenora Céilí Band.
Her career has taken her to some of the world’s most iconic venues, including Radio City Music Hall in New York and Dublin’s 3Arena. Along the way she has collaborated and toured with a wide range of celebrated artists including Nathan Carter, Steve Cooney, Sharon Shannon, Bill Whelan & many more.
Tara has performed and recorded with both the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra as a vocalist and instrumentalist bringing her distinctive traditional style to collaborations with some of Ireland’s most respected ensembles.
Alongside her live work, Tara has built a strong international following online, with over 450,000 followers and more than 20 million views across her social media channels.
Her live show is a lively mix of Irish traditional music, lilting, Irish ballads and well-known folk songs.
