M-OPUS

M-Opus are a 4-piece prog rock band from Ireland, with an unusual twist. Fronted by TV/Film composer Jonathan Casey, the group releases concept albums from specific years in music history, creating an imagined, stylistic discography. They have released a 1975 album, a 1978, a 1972 and next is a 1982 album, “Negatives”. Their genre is symphonic prog, in the vein of early Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, King Crimson and shares the twisting instrumental interests of Angine De Poitrine.

Jonathan has recently toured with the David Cross Band (Crimson’s violinist), on vocal and guitar duties, performing the Larks Tongues In Aspic album. They also joined forces with other KC alumni, Tony Levin, Trey Gunn, Pat Mastelotto & Jeremy Stacey.

M-Opus are Mark Grist (drums), PJ O’Connell (guitars) from progressive metal band Hedfuzy, Mark Redmond (keys) from Alsan, Something Happens and Breathe The Pink Floyd Tribute and Jonathan (Vocals, Keys, Bass).
