THIS IS WHAT THE NEW LUAS NETWORK WILL LOOK LIKE

The final countdown is on to the completion of the new integrated Luas Network and with the release of the official map, we’re already planning our Christmas shopping trips from Northside to Southside!

The works to complete the Luas Cross City project continue apace in the city centre with the first test run of the new Luas trams expected in June of this year, with extensive testing and driver training required before the big launch in December 2017.

You won’t know what hit you when the Green Line meets the Red Luas Line! There will be new city centre stops at Dawson Street, Westmoreland Street, College Street, two on O’Connell Street, Parnell Street, Dominick Street and Marlborough Street, travelling all the way out to the Broombridge Irish Rail station in Cabra where the Luas service will connect with the Maynooth line train service.

It is expected that the new cross city service will increase journeys on the Luas network by 10 million a year once operational.

DublinTown has also been calling for reduced city centre fares for the Luas service to accommodate people making short journeys across the city (perfect for those days when you may or may not have picked up a few extra pieces in Penneys on Henry Street but still have many more shops to get to on the Southside before heading home).
