Steeped in history, Moore St remains an integral part of Dublin city and is one of the oldest markets in the capital having first set up in the 18th century.
Since then, Moore Street has come through many challenges from economic downturns, revolution, competition and changes in buying habits. But despite all this, stall traders continue to keep it’s legacy alive and provide the public with fresh fruit and veg, as well as fish.

Still a tourist attraction, the aesthetics of some of the buildings surrounding the stalls may have changed but the great Dublin banter is still there. Now there are many businesses in the area that are bringing a new lease of life to the street. You have businesses like family run butchers like F.X Buckley, there since 1930, Troy’s Butchers another multi-generational business. There is the Moore St entrance to the Ilac Centre, established in 1981 and newer eateries like Ann’s Bakery and Bun Cha Vietnamese cuisine. The street is also home to many different kinds of ethnic stores and retail services that have filled the street with new cultures.
Other businesses on the street include, Nisbets for all your catering needs, Moore St Mall, BB’s Bakers and Baristas and Lidl.
