A reflective and personal one-man play, exploring themes of coming-of-age and loss, through live music and immersive storytelling.
As part of DUBLIN BY DUSK:
When a young musician loses his band and with it a personal creative dream, he conjures up a dreamlike space in which he is placed in a live gig situation from his own bedroom. As he plays songs from his band’s musical repertoire and interacts with the audience, he starts to re-live the pain of the fallout and becomes increasingly frustrated with this situation he has encountered. It is only through looking back on his journey and receiving a compassionate message from his future self that he reconciles with his grief and walks out into the world ready to live.
Come along and support a young artist while experiencing an evening of live music and performance in the intimate atmosphere of Bewley’s Cafe Theatre in Bewley’s beautiful historic Cafe on Grafton Street.
YOUR HEART IS AN EMPTY ROOM is a work-in-progress by James Lydon.
