Mike Viola is a producer, musician, songwriter and singer. He is widely recognised for his work with Panic! at the Disco, Andrew Bird, Ryan Adams, Jenny Lewis, Fall Out Boy and Mandy Moore. His solo career stands firmly on its own, beginning with acclaimed records as the leader of New York cult favourite Candy Butchers and continuing through seven critically adored Mike Viola albums.

His original music has been featured on soundtracks for films including That Thing You Do!, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and Get Him to the Greek. Decades into his career, his music continues to resonate with and inspire new generations of musicians and music lovers.

From 2019, Viola entered a prolific creative period, releasing fan favourite records The American Egypt, Godmuffin, and Paul McCarthy, all recorded in his Los Angeles studio Barebones. His more recent albums have built a new global audience and supported sold-out shows across the United States.

His latest album, Rock Of Boston, was released on 20 September 2024 on Good Morning Monkey/Grand Phony in the US, Lojinx in Europe and SONY Japan, followed by an international tour. Recorded over winter 2023 on ½” tape at Barebones, the record features collaborators including Jake Sinclair on bass and Brendon Urie on drums. Viola describes a fluid, instinct-led writing process shaped by years of constant touring, including writing on the road while performing with Panic! at the Disco.

Viola is currently working on the follow-up to Rock Of Boston, due for release in Winter/Spring 2026, with a tour to follow
