Composer, pianist, and cultural nomad Antoni O’Breskey has spent fifty years charting a singular course through global musical traditions. Through his long-running Nomadic Piano Project, he pioneered cross-cultural fusion in the late 1970s, becoming one of the first to weave Irish traditional music with jazz, flamenco, and Arabic influences, long before ‘World Music’ even became a category.

A Wild Inhabitation is a striking new collaboration between Antoni O’Breskey, his daughter Consuelo Nerea Breschi (Varo / Landless / Rattling Ark), and other leading figures from Ireland’s contemporary folk and Jazz scene. In their upcoming album, they weave traditional Irish tunes and songs into a rich tapestry of minimalism, electronica, and jazz echoes—creating an evocative, cross-generational conversation that honours the past while charting a visionary path forward.

Joining them for this special album launch performance are Kevin Murphy (Slow Moving Clouds/Rattling Ark) on cello/vocals, Paatho Cummins (Skipper’s Alley/Ispíní na hÉireann) on banjo/mandolin/whistle, Tom Mulrooney (Tolka Hot Club) on double bass, Barry Carroll on hammer dulcimer and Matthew Jacobson on drums.

Lizzi Murtough is a singer and multi-instrumentalist from California. Her music blends a background in classical cello and poetry with vintage keyboard sounds to create rich, dreamlike songs that meditate on selfhood, transformation and desire.

Lizzi lives in Dublin and plays regularly with Rattling Ark, Daniel Luke and the next new low. She is interested in being outside and looking at small things with her eyes.
