Food vendors, music and outdoor seating in the heart of Dublin’s historic Monto fish market: Wednesday, 9 September 2026 @ 12:30pm
A brand-new pilot Wednesday lunchtime food market is coming to the heart of Dublin’s North Inner City this September, with the Lunch at Liberty Park Food Market launching on Wednesday, 9th September 2026.
Located at Liberty Park, just behind Talbot Street in Dublin 1, the park sits in the heart of the historic Monto district, an area rich in Dublin’s social and cultural history.
Supported by the North East Inner City (NEIC) Initiative and Dublin City Council, the Liberty Park Food Market will take place every Wednesday in September from 12:30 – 3pm with food vendors bringing together an exciting mix of food and flavours from Dublin and around the world including Asian food, African food, pizzas, Portuguese goodies, coffee and handmade cakes and treats.
Alongside the food, there will be a DJ creating music with outdoor seating, creating a new Wednesday lunchtime destination for local residents, office workers, students and visitors to Dublin 1.
Lord Mayor of Dublin Councillor Daryl Barron said: “Liberty Park is a fantastic green space right in the heart of the North East Inner City. With support from the NEIC initiative, this healthy placemaking market pilot project envisages that Liberty Park can become the perfect venue to host weekly lunchtime community food markets”
Olivia Brody, Programme manager for the NEIC initiative said: ” Liberty Park is an amazing amenity in the area but many people who work or study just minutes away may not be aware of it. The pilot Lunch at Liberty Park Food Market has fantastic food vendors, music and outdoor seating, and we want people to come down, grab some lunch, meet friends or colleagues and discover Liberty Park for themselves.”
The market will take place each Wednesday throughout September, beginning on Wednesday, 9 September 2026
