The countdown is on, Dundrum and Swords on ice open from 23 October, bringing festive skating back to two of Dublin’s favourite Christmas destinations!

Christmas is coming early to Dublin as On Ice returns to both Dundrum and Swords on Friday, 23 October 2026, bringing real ice skating, festive atmosphere and Christmas fun to both sides of the city.

Dundrum On Ice returns to Dundrum Town Centre for its 14th consecutive year. The rink first opened in 2013 and has since become an established part of the festive season at Dundrum.

Running from 23 October 2026 until 24 January 2027, Dundrum On Ice gives families, friends and couples plenty of opportunity to take to the ice throughout the Christmas season and into the New Year.

Meanwhile, Swords gets its own festive skating experience as Swords On Ice returns to the Swords On Ice Christmas Quarter at Pavilions Shopping Centre. The rink will run from 23 October 2026 until 10 January 2027.

With a rink on both sides of Dublin, families and friends can choose the location that suits them and make a trip to the ice part of their Christmas plans.

From little ones finding their feet on the ice for the first time to experienced skaters returning for their annual festive skate, On Ice is designed as a safe and inclusive experience for all levels.

Festive music and a Christmas setting help make a visit to the rink much more than simply an ice-skating session. Whether it’s a family day out, a date night, a catch-up with friends or a Christmas group outing, On Ice offers Dubliners another way to make memories together this festive season.

Jason Williams, at On Ice, said:

“There’s always a fantastic atmosphere when we open the rinks in Dublin and we’re delighted to be returning to both Dundrum and Swords from 23 October.
On Ice has been part of Christmas in Dublin for many years. For so many people, their annual trip to the ice has become part of the build-up to Christmas. We can’t wait to welcome back familiar faces as well as lots of first-time skaters this year.”

On Ice also caters for schools, parties and corporate groups, making the Dublin rinks an option for everything from family Christmas outings to festive get-togethers with colleagues and friends.
