Join us for an engaging artist talk with Irish painter John O’Flynn, held in conjunction with his solo exhibition, Painting Air. During the evening, O’Flynn will discuss the ideas, inspirations and creative process behind his work, offering insight into a practice that blends reality, memory and imagination.
The semi-abstract paintings in Painting Air are inspired by moments from the artist’s everyday life that evoke peace, excitement, hope and “the ineffable”. Drawing on influences from Impressionism, Graffiti and Street Art, O’Flynn has developed a distinctive visual language that captures the atmosphere, light and emotional resonance of fleeting experiences. His paintings invite viewers to reflect on the unseen qualities that shape our perception of the world.
Originally from Galway and now based in Dublin, John O’Flynn’s works explore themes of landscape, light, introspection and the rhythms of everyday life. His work is held in private collections across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.
This event forms part of ‘Dublin by Dusk’, a new citywide initiative celebrating arts, culture, hospitality and shopping on the last Thursday of each month.
