During the months of July and August, there’s a number of activities to enjoy from on-street activity to puppet shows, zumba classes to designing your own fairy door! Take a look at the listings below and make the most of your time with the family in Dublin’s city centre.
Get ready for a super Summer in Dublin Town this July and August! DublinTown’s Summer in Dublin campaign, which will see Henry Street and the newly pedestrianised Suffolk Street animated with a range of superhero-themed, free, family entertainment. Taking place between 1pm and 5pm each Saturday, over eight consecutive weeks, families can enjoy activities such as face painting, music, superhero characters, balloons, giant games and a novelty photobooth – all for FREE. Location and dates: Henry Street: July 13th, 27th and August 10th, 24th Suffolk Street: July 20th and August 3rd, 17th, 31st. As a special treat, there will be an outdoor cinema screening on August 10th on Wolfe Tone Square, screening some great family films that will be chosen by the public. The wonderful crew from Fame Ireland are back in the Ilac again every Thursday this summer, with fun ideas to keep the kids entertained. Suitable for children up to 8 years of age, the Ilac Kids Club is completely FREE and parents are advised to pre-register their child at firstname.lastname@example.org, as places fill up fast. On Thursdays between 12 noon and 3pm, right up until Thursday 18 August, the Kids Club programme is packed with fun, art, games, music, face-painting and more. Full details can be found here
This Summer, Jervis Shopping Centre is hosting an amazing program of FREE family events every Saturday in July and August from 1 to 5pm. Each week there’s something different on like Kids Zumba, Witches and Wizards show and the Jack Wise magic show. For dates and details on what’s on click here
For the first time in the GPO, witness the many stories of the different characters from the McCormick Puppet Theatre, a lively show for all ages. The courtyard in GPO Witness History will come alive with the sights and sounds of our Summer Puppet Theatre which the kids are sure to enjoy! There are three shows per day at 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm taking place on July 6th, July 27th and August 10th. Further details can be found here
Arnotts department store is collaborating with science and sports centre, Explorium, to bring a temporary exhibit ‘Just an Illusion?’ in store this summer. For a limited time only, from July 1st for 2 months, the exhibit will be housed in Arnotts Gallery Space on the second floor and features complimentary attractions and exhibits for customers of all ages.
