Books Upstairs celebrating 40 years
“It’s our privilege to contribute to the life of the city and support its literature-lovers!”
May 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of Books Upstairs’ first opening in 1978. We are delighted they are in business and still completely independent, which means they are Dublin’s oldest independent bookshop.
For the team in Books Upstairs, bookselling means being embedded locally and from that position embracing the great international world of literature. They truly love what they do, and appreciate the countless discriminating customers who have helped them to keep the doors open over the decades!
One way they are marking this milestone year is with some unique tote bags. The artwork was created in collaboration with the not-for-profit organisation re-wrap.
Made from 100% cotton canvas with reinforced handles and beautiful French seam finishing, this bag is 100% fair trade, reusable, reversible and made with eco-friendly dyes. It even has a secret pocket inside for your mobile phone! This special bag-for-life is available for €12.
We’ve produced a small number of this anniversary bag, available for just €4. These totes are made from 100% cotton sheeting with reinforced handles, and are also 100% fair trade, reusable, reversible, and made with eco-friendly dyes.
