When you think of Shopping in the Northside of the city, there’s nowhere that springs to mind faster than Henry Street in Dublin Town.

Henry street was pedestrianised in the early 1980’s and since then has made a name as one of the premiere shopping destinations in Ireland. The thoroughfare of central Dublin boasts two shopping centres and is teeming with chain-retailers. An impressive average of 33 million shoppers visit the principal shopping street each year, making it the most visited, and busiest, shopping spot in Dublin.

With pillars in the retail industry Marks and Spencer, Dunnes Stores, Debenhams, Arnotts and Penneys all a stone throw from one another along the Northside street, it’s easy to see why so many people flock here for their retail needs.
Two of the biggest shopping centres in Dublin City are situated on Henry Street. The Ilac Centre, and Jervis Shopping Centre house some of the most key-retail spots for anyone’s spree of shopping. You check out their store directories here: Jervis, Ilac.

If it’s occassion wear your looking for, try having a gander in-
TK MAXX in the Ilac Centre have some amazing designer pieces at discount prices, prepare to rummage! Arnotts Department Store  have plenty of wonderful concessions for formal wear. Marks and Spencer have an answer to almost all of your retail needs, including a wonderful collection of outfits perfect for any special occasion. Major retail chains Zara and River Island are all shops you can’t miss on Henry Street when looking for an outfit with a wow-factor, and for something different.

If you’re welcoming the athleisure trend with open arms, shopping in-
JD Sports, Champion Sports in Jervis , Life Style Sports in Arnotts, and Inersport Elvery’s are all home to your favourite sports-brands and athletic wear. If it’s something a little more budget-friendly your looking for. TK Maxx in the Ilac Centre can be amazing for picking up your favourite brands at a fraction of the price. Not forgetting that PenneysDunnes Stores all have great athleisure departments in their store!

Casual wear wardrobe in need of an update?
There’s some shops you just can’t walk by when you’re shopping on Henry Street. Pull and Bear, Bershka in Jervis, Stradivarious in JervisH&M, River Island, Zara , New Look in JervisMango, and
Dunnes Stores to name but a few! If anyone every sparks an argument of which side of the Liffey is better to shop on, the definitive answer lies with this: we not only have one, but two, Penney’s shops on the Northside of the Liffey whereas the Southside don’t have one. Penney’s have became an absolute beacon of Irish retail and absolutely no shopping trip is complete without a visit to their Mary St (at the very bottom of Henry Street) store.

Shoes need to be upgraded? 
Aldo have the most beautiful men’s and women’s shoes and range from casual shoes to formal heels and dress shoes. The Shoe Garden in Arnotts is like heaven on earth for any and all shoe-fanatics! Schuh in Jervis stock all of your favourite brands from Converse and Crocs to Dr Martens Blowfish. Korky’s (both on Henry Street and in the Ilac Centre) have some gorgeous shoes at excellent value. Skechers pride themselves on making shoes that are comfort-focused. Clarks have been on Henry Street for decades and have an incredible reputation for quality footwear, and TK Maxx in the Ilac Centre will see that your fashion forward from your head down to your toes.

You’ll find all of your cosmetic prayers answered in both Arnotts and Debenhams make-up departments, where concession stands from all of your favourite brands reside.

And while no outfit is complete without accessories, shopping on Henry Street makes it a dream to add the finishing touches to any outfit. Arnott’s, Marks and Spencer and Debenhams are all staple spots for all of your accessory needs. Arnotts and Debenhams house some of the most beautiful jewellery in their respective Jewellery Departments and Marks and Spencer have an extensive range of classic jewelry.
