With the Aer Lingus College Football game between The Kansas State Wildcats & The Iowa State Cyclones right around the corner, we think it would be helpful to know some of the best spots to hit up for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a little bit of drinking. Breakfast Spots:
Beanhive Café:
- Beanhive Café is located at the top of Dawson Street.
- They have a plethora or breakfast options, from wraps/sandwiches to a classic Full Irish.
- They also have plenty of salads/ vegetarian options along with fresh smoothies and delectable muffins.
- Their baristas are unreal and will make you a gorgeous cup of joe.
Flanagan’s Bar & Restaurant:
- Flanagan’s is located in the Middle of O’Connell Street.
- They are a classic Gastro-Pub, with plenty of traditional Dublin dishes.
- Whether you’re a sweet or salty breakfast kind of person, Flanagan’s has you covered, with a full Irish breakfast option, or a classic pancake stack.
Brother Hubbard:
- Brother Hubbard can be found at the bottom of Capel Street.
- They have a wide selection of dishes, from vegan meals to porridge to Turkish eggs, and of course, a Full Irish.
- You can also have a cheeky mimosa or two as well, if you feel so inclined.
Taste Food Company:
- You can find Taste Food Co. at the bottom of South Williams Street.
- There are a plethora of both vegan and vegetarian dishes here in case you are worried about finding any.
- They have multiple different egg breakfasts too, whether you want a benedict, classic scrambled or something else entirely, Taste Food Company can deliver.
KC Peaches:
- KC Peaches is a delectable café in the middle of Nassau Street.
- They are dedicated to bringing you only the best food, both healthy and completely free of additives and preservatives. Their meals are also made fresh, in house, everyday.
- All of their produce is as locally sourced as they can get, and their treats are also seasonal, so that it is always fresh and in season.
Bewley’s Café Grafton Street:
- Bewley’s café is located smack bang in the centre of Grafton Street.
- They have been providing delicious teas and cakes to their Dublin patrons since 1835.
- While Bewley’s savoury breakfasts are stunningly tasty, their sweet treats are where they really shine, from a classic scone to Nutella cheesecake, you won’t find a more perfected sweets menu.
Lunch Spots:
Tang Dawson Street:
- Tang can be found at the very top of Dawson Street.
- They are another healthy eatery, focusing mainly on flatbreads and salads for their luscious lunches.
- There are also a lection of delicious drinks, from freshly squeezed orange juice to various different Kombuchas or just a tea and coffee.
L’Gueuleton:
- L’Gueuleton is a French style bistro in the middle of Fade Street.
- They sell everything from snails to sirloin to pork ribeye, no matter he taste, L’Gueuleton has something for you.
- There is also a bar located above the bistro, if you happen to want a drink before or after your meal.
Póg Café:
- Póg is again, a healthy eatery, located at the end of Bachelors Walk.
- They have a whole menu dedicated to tasty, healthy protein pancakes that will have you running back for more, they also have their very own açai bowl and various smoothies.
- But it’s not just sweet breakfasts, they also have a selection of salads, eggs, porridge and healthy sandwiches & burgers.
Cornucopia:
- Cornucopia is a completely vegan and vegetarian restaurant in the middle of Wicklow Street.
- They have different specials to choose from, including a soup of the day.
- They also have multiple salad bowls, and vegan/vegetarian versions of meals like Lasagna and Enchiladas.
The Ivy Dublin:
- The Ivy is the first international brasserie of the Ivy collection, and can be found in the middle of Dawson Street.
- They have a delicious selection of fish meals, gorgeous starters and various salads.
- Arguably the only thing better than the food at the Ivy is the interior, lined with artworks, beautiful plants and super comfy furniture.
Dinner Spots:
Leo Burdock:
- Leo Burdock is a fish N chip shop in the middle of Crown Alley in Temple Bar.
- They sell some of the best fish and chips in all of Ireland, maybe even the world, as well as burgers, chips, chicken nuggets and much more.
- They are so renowned that they have a wall of fame of all the famous people who made the right to choice to eat there.
Elephant & Castle:
- You can find Elephant and Castle on the corner of Asdill’s Row & Fleet Street in Temple Bar.
- They are known by almost everyone in Dublin for their delicious chicken wings, but the deliciousness is not all spent on their chicken, they also have gorgeous burgers, sandwiches and salads, as well as a stacked kids menu, for any and all families out there.
Sheehan’s:
- Sheehan’s is a family run gastro-pub on the corner of Chatham Street and Balfe Street.
- They have a wide selection of traditional Irish dinners such as lamb stew, bangers and mash, corned beef & cabbage and more.
- They also have plenty of starters, sandwiches and burgers, not to mention the fantastic drinks.
Brannigan’s:
- Brannigan’s is another gastro-pub on Cathedral Street, right across from the famous O’Connell Street.
- They have won multiple awards for their excellent traditional Irish food, and boy do they deserve it.
- From their roast rib of beef to their beef and Guinness casserole to their seafood pie, you won’t want to skip on Brannigan’s.
The Winding Stair:
- You can find The Winding Stair on Ormand Quay Lower, right along the River Liffey.
- Named after the W.B. Yeats poem, this restaurant is as Irish as they come, which is cemented by dishes such as their roasted Wicklow lamb rump and Dingle bay crab.
- Another great selling point for The Winding Stair is the view that you get when you dine here, whether it’s people watching or just looking at the River Liffey, the view cannot be beat.
Pubs for after the game:
Tapped:
- Tapped is a beer bar that can be found on Nassau Street.
- Tapped specialise in all things beer, from craft to draught, bottled or canned, the options are seemingly endless here.
- They have a big focus on sustainability also, which presents itself in the reuse of materials and the use of used kegs for atmosphere and ambience.
The Duke Bar:
- The Duke is a Victorian bar located on Duke Street.
- They have been up and running since 1822, so the drinks here are as good as you can get.
- They are also situated right next to Grafton Street, in case you wanted to go for some shopping beforehand.
The Celt:
- You can find The Celt in the very centre of Talbot street.
- This traditional Irish pub has everything you could want, a brilliant selection of beers and wines, as well as a choice food menu.
- On top of that, they also play live classic Irish music every single night.
Pubs showing the game:
If you want to watch the game with some buddies, by yourself or with family but couldn’t get tickets to see it in the Aviva, here are two pubs that will be showing the broadcast live so you don’t have to miss it.

The Stags Head:
- The Stags Head is another Victorian era pub located on the corner of Dame Court and Dame Lane.
- They were awarded Ireland’s best traditional pub in 2023, and rightfully so, with a beautiful and cosy interior, the drinks, the atmosphere and the staff will make you feel right at home.
- They will also, of course, be showing the game between K-State and Iowa State live.
The Arlington Hotel:
- The Arlington hotel can be found mere metres away from the River Liffey on Bachelors Walk.
- Aside from being a stunning hotel, they also have a fantastic bar, brilliant live music and a great kitchen.
- But what is arguably more important than that, is the fact that they are showing the game!
