- The Mercantile is a hotel located on Dame Street, and in their lobby lies a brilliant restaurant.
- They sell wonderful dishes from all over the world, from Korean chicken wings to croque madame to baked gnocchi, the Mercantile has it all.
- There’s also always the Mercantile Bar if you want a little pick me up.
- The Mercantile has also recently undergone a major 5-year refurbishment.
- Kaldero is a new Irish-Filipino restaurant that has opened in the Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre.

- The food prepared by Kaldero’s Excellent chef, Richie Castillo, is designed to be shared and enjoyed by everyone in a friendly and communal setting.
- Hana Izakaya is a traditional Japanese izakaya located on Capel Street.
- You can take your pick of sushi, donburi, tempura and many more.
- Hong Kong Wonton sells the greatest, you guessed it, wontons, completely authentic and completely delicious too.
- They are located on Fade Street, so if you happen to cross through that part of town on a family day out.
- They not only pride themselves on their excellent wontons, but their amazing homemade broth, which has 3 different types of flounder, chicken thighs and takes a whole 10 hours to dehydrate.

Definitely Irish-The Oasis Tour:
- With Oasis’ Croke Park concert around the corner, the EPIC museum has made an exhibition dedicated to the genealogy of the award winning duo.
- Perfect for the family, there are plenty of interactive elements of the EPIC museum for the kids, as well as a treasure trove of Irish knowledge for the parents.
Aer Lingus College Football:
- In the Aviva stadium on the 23rd of August, K-State & Iowa State American Football teams will be going head to head for the first game of the season.
- For the parents, you can see an American Football game live, and who knows, you may even fall in love with it. And for the kids, it’s a live sporting event, so it may be hard for them NOT to enjoy it. Fun fact, my parents brought me to an American Football game in the Aviva and it was one of my favourite outings I’ve had with my parents.
Big Little Treasure Hunt:
- The Little Museum of Dublin is hosting a treasure hunt that will take around Dublin’s most beautiful Georgian square in a fun and informational way.
- Not only will this treasure hunt be chocked full of interesting facts about the area of your search, but it will also give you a way of tiring out the youngens.
Quick Wins: Under-the-Radar City Centre Finds
Trinity Rose Garden:
- Trinity Rose Garden is a beautiful patch of green grass surrounded by a abundance of gorgeous flowers, it may not be the most exciting place in the world, but it is one of the most peaceful and serene places you can go in town, perfect for a little picnic, or to read a book.
- You can find it on Trinity Colleges grounds, in between the museum building and the rugby pitches.

- There are 5 different family specific tours on in the National Gallery, all of which are completely free of charge and completely tailored to giving you and your kids a fantastic experience.
