Sean Harrington, the Architect with a Big Vision for Dublin
Sean Harrington Architects is located on Capel Street and has been bringing innovative ideas to Dublin for more than 13 years.
The work of Sean and his team is experienced and seen by visitors and locals in the city every day, especially with their bridges in the city centre: The Millennium Bridge and the Rosie Hackett Bridge. The architects are also working on designing another bridge, which is planned for the Docklands area.
Sean crosses the Millennium bridge every day and says “It’s a great reminder for me as an architect that you can have a positive impact on your city that will be there for generations. We take great pride in our work”.
In 2017 DublinTown, Dublin City Council and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) held a week long series of public consultations and design workshops which led to the publication of the “Reimagine Dublin One” report.
One of the key recommendations of this report was to make improvements to the laneways of the area which were seen as not being utilised to their full potential. The report suggested that these laneways provided a unique opportunity for development that could enhance the wider area and create new pedestrian routes through Dublin One.
