New Romantic, the newest obsession of the jewellery world

THE FOUNDERS STORY

Just like the uniqueness of a gem, no two women are the same, and that certainly rings true for New Romantic founders Niamh Patten and JuileAnn Fearon.
In 2016 this dynamic pairing set about creating a jewellery brand that represented everything they admire about women’s multi-faceted personalities. And by June 2017, New Romantic had opened the doors to its first retail store on Drury Street, Dublin 2.
Inspired by her love for simple beauty, Niamh Patten, Jewellery Designer, has a very personal design philosophy—“I create what I like to wear and what I think the strong, confident women of today would like to wear”.
With over two decades of experience Niamh is extremely excited to be bringing New Romantic to the jewellery market. An inspired set of elements which tell a story through each unique piece. Her designs exude refined sophistication and edgy elegance. Above all Niamh is an intuitive designer; she has an instinctive sense of what materials will work together to create a range of styles for women who aren’t afraid to stand out.
JulieAnn Fearon is a passionate and determined businesswoman. She is the ying to Niamh’s yang you might say. Inspired by the different cultures and languages of the world, JulieAnn has brought her experience with a number of entrepreneurs, both on her home-shores of Ireland and also in China. JulieAnn was enchanted by Niamh’s vision for New Romantic and their decision to collaborate stemmed from a shared desire to celebrate both the small victories and big successes of all women.

In 2016 Niamh Patten and JulieAnn Fearon started the adventure of creating a unique and personal jewellery collection. The belief behind it, was to design pieces of jewellery that let every woman tell their own personal story. And at the centre of their story was to use high quality elements, that represent special occasions and life milestones to the bearer, but also the small everyday achievements that so often go overlooked. The jewellery collection was to be known as New Romantic.
In fact the logo for New Romantic was carefully created in order to represent this vision symbolically. The four triangles which make up the logo, reflect the different facets of a woman’s personality as well as a deconstructed gemstone. And just as women can bring a look from day to night, the triangles have been combined to form different styles using the same key elements. Each of the shapes represents a different trait in the individual; self-confidence, ambition, generosity or kindness for example. They wanted their brand to embody how just one woman can have so many different looks and styles, whilst also showing several different sides to her personality on any given day. The connecting triangles are just like the facets of a gem too, each side a unique reflection of a woman’s shades, moods and interests, from her unique playlist to her favourite food and drink.
New Romantic aspires to cater for women who take pride in their personal style, women who will never be defined by big brands. Women who want to stand out from the crowd and embrace their individuality from head to toe.
As your life unfolds, new events, situations and experiences transpire each day, and so New Romantic has created the pieces to mark them. The low key times in our lives are a fundamental part of what makes our more exciting days so incredible.
They are determined to encourage all women to celebrate and own the times when they want to enjoy being by themselves, walking without worry, diving into a new book or binging on their favourite TV show. We adore and admire that side of women, and feel it should never be hidden.
