What’s on in #DublinTown this Weekend – 16th – 18th March
Paddy’s Weekend is finally upon us and we’ve got lots going on for you this weekend in #DublinTown!
Each week, DublinTown are on the airwaves on the Friday edition of the Good Morning Dublin show on 103.2 Dublin City FM. In case you missed it, here’s what you can do this weekend:
March 16th
Topshop in Jervis Shopping Centre launched a pop up braid shop for two days only and today (Friday, March 16) is the last day so hurry! You can meet the guys from the BraidBox and treat yourself to one of the funky braids they are offering. Prices start from 12.50 and vary depending on the style you are going for.
Murray’s Bar, O’Connell St – live Irish dance shows
They host live traditional Irish music every night of the week and Irish dance shows every weekend, with lots of audience participation. Being St Patrick’s Weekend this is a perfect spot for getting your fill of traditional Irish Dancing.
March 17th
The main event this weekend is the St. Patrick’s Day Parade which will take to the streets of #DublinTown at 12 on Saturday. The theme of this year’s parade is home, to celebrate my home, your home, our home. There will be multiple viewing points throughout the parade route and television screens for people to see. It promises to be a brilliant day for all the family! The duration of the parade is around 2 and a half hours.
Father Ted Special at The Laughter Lounge
Ah go on, go on, join comedians from Father Ted, Joe (Father Damo) Rooney and Patrick (Eoin McLove) McDonnell are bringing you a great night out which involves a ‘Lovely Girls Competition’ and lots of other Father Ted craziness. Tickets are €26 and the show starts at 7pm
March 18th
This free family fun event will have lots of entertainment including street theatre, music, aerial performances, workshops, Irish language activities and to top of the festivities, a Ceilí. Play life sized arcade games and listen to storytelling by torchlight, shadow puppets and lots more. Science Foundation Ireland will have a science zone where you will get the chance to experiment with cutting edge technology and marvel skilled jugglers.
Thriller at The Gaiety Theatre
For any Michael Jackson fans, this is the perfect night out for you! Two hours of jam packed MJ classics and hits along with impressive choreography from cast members. From Smooth Criminal to Billy Jean, you won’t be able to resist jumping out of your seat! The show is running until Sunday and tickets are available at the Gaiety Theatre Box Office or Ticketmaster.ie. Buy now to avoid disappointment.
