What’s On in Dublin This Weekend (Nov 16-18)
There is a lot on this weekend from Santa weekend to cheering on the boys in green, and plenty of cultural activities too. Read up of what’s on in Dublin Town!
DublinTown features on Dublin City FM every Friday morning to talk about some of the many things happening in the city. If you missed us on air, don’t worry as below are a number of things you can do this weekend in the city.
Santa Weekend – Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th November
It’s a busy weekend for the jolly big man in red as Santa Claus visits numerous shopping centres this weekend.
– Jervis Shopping Centre, Saturday 11am – Santa will be at his magical castle with free activities on during the day from 11am-3pm
– Ilac Shopping Centre, Saturday 3pm – Experience the activities with sing songs by DJ Ray Shah and Santa’s Elves
– Arnotts, Sunday 2pm – A ticketing system will be in place, therefore you can enjoy shopping in Dublin One and then be notified via text message when Santa arrives
– Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, Sunday 3pm – Santa will visit the shopping centre to switch on their Christmas Lights, then will return to his grotto from November 24th until December 23rd
Peter Gordon Photo Exhibition at Studio 10 – Friday 16th to Sunday 18th November
Irish photographer Peter Gordon is showcasing his beautiful collection ‘Dublin Salt’ at Studio 10 Dublin for its closing weekend. The free exhibition is a three-year journey through the counties of Ireland, where Gordon snapped stunning shots of the Irish salty perimeters. All photographs (on canvas) are available to buy, as well as his photo book – all of which are great gift ideas. Locations include the 40 Foot at sunrise, Sandymount and Dublin Bay. The exhibition is open 10am-6pm Friday & Saturday, 11am-4pm Sunday.
Daithí plays Everleigh – Saturday 17th November
Techno-trad producer & DJ Daithí will play Everleigh on Harcourt Street as part of Jagermeister ‘The Ice Kuhl Series’. Doors open at 11pm, and tickets are available on the door at only €10. Having sold out gigs at Electric Picnic 2018, expect a night of seriously good tunes and dancing! Everleigh is stricyly over 21s.
Ireland V New Zealand Guinness Series – Saturday 17th November, 7pm
Come on you boys in green! If you couldn’t get tickets to the sold out match at the Aviva Stadium, be sure to watch it in one of the many great pubs & bars in DublinTown. Lemon & Duke on Duke Lane, Sinnott’s on South King St, Murray’s Bar on O’Connell St, and Woolshed Baa on Parnell Street are all showing the game against the All Blacks on the big screen.

Wild Lights at Dublin Zoo – Friday 16th until Sunday 18th November
Experience Dublin Zoo like never before with their incredible illuminations and festive lights. You’ll get to walk around our beloved zoo after dark where many of the animals are still out to play and make themselves heard. The beautiful lights include giant silk lanterns, animal characters like polar bears, walruses, as well as penguins and seahorses. Wild Lights is on daily until 6th January. Tickets cost €15-20, while accompanied children under 3 years go FREE. Tickets bought via Dublin Zoo website.
