What’s On in Dublin This Weekend (July 26-28)
DublinTown features on Dublin City FM every Friday morning to talk about some of the many things happening in the city. If you missed us on air, don’t worry as below are a number of things you can do this weekend in the city.
The Georgian House Party at The Little Museum of Dublin – Friday 26th July, 6pm
This Friday you are invited to a pre-drinks party with a difference! The Georgian House Party is a brilliant new way to discover the truth about this “dirty old town”, with their exclusive after-hours experience. The ultimate start to a night out in Dublin, join in for good wine, funny stories and great company in Ireland’s most charming museum in Grafton Quarter. If you want the perfect introduction to Dublin and its people, then nab your ticket now for this Friday evening!
This is an adults only event taking place every Friday. Tickets cost €12, and your ticket includes two glasses of wine. This event is sponsored by Santa Rita – drink responsibly.
Summer in DublinTown at Henry Street – Saturday 27th July, 1-5pm
Every Saturday in July and August, DublinTown will have on-street fun activities for all the family to enjoy! This Saturday enjoy giant games like Connect 4 and Jenga, face painting, colouring competitions. There are also photo opportunities with our four superheroes and in the FunkyCam photobooth car! Taking place from 1-5pm at Henry Street, this is a completely FREE activity that’s perfect for a day out before/after lunch.
LA MER Pop Up Shop at The Irish Georgian Society – Saturday 27th July, 11am-7.30pm
58 South William Street has been transformed in to the world of La Mer and everyone is invited to walk in and visit. You’ll receive keepsake cards on arrival to note your skincare type and foundation shade match, as you’ll then retrieve bespoke La Mer deluxe samples as take-home treats upon departure. Enjoy the photography exhibition that explains the story behind La Mer.
The Octagon Room on Level 1 has been transformed into an Ocean Dome, where you can take selfies with life size jar of Crème de La Mer, their iconic cream. Relax with the soothing sounds of waves in the ocean illuminated room, while up in the La Mer Lounge on Level 2 you can enjoy complimentary tea/coffee.
Summer Puppet Theatre at GPO Witness History – Saturday 27th July, 12.30pm, 2pm, 3.30pm
Witness the many stories of the different characters from the McCormick Puppet Theatre, a lively show for all ages! Enjoy horrible histories at this fun-filled show, about Mischievous Mickey who lives on a Victorian street in Dublin and all that he gets up to. The courtyard in GPO Witness History will come alive with the sights and sounds of their Summer Puppet Theatre, which the kids are sure to enjoy!
There are three shows this Saturday at 12.30pm, 2pm, 3.30pm. Tickets range from €7-40, children under 5 go FREE, and family tickets are also available. Your ticket also include the self-guided tour of the GPO Witness History.
Summer Sundays on College Green – Sunday 28th July, 12-4pm
As part of the Dublin City Council’s Summer Sundays on College Green, Explore and Create will be a fun and educational afternoon with a range of science and technology attractions from the past, present and future. All activities will be staged on a first come first served basis with no booking required.
Please be aware of closures: the area from College Green to the junction of Georges Street will be closed to all traffic between 7am and 7pm on Sunday July 28th. The area will only be accessible to pedestrians and cyclists during these times. Buses will be diverted however the Luas will be running normal service.
