What’s On in Dublin This Weekend (January 25-27)
DublinTown features on Dublin City FM every Friday morning to talk about some of the many things happening in the city. If you missed us on air, don’t worry as below are a number of things you can do this weekend in the city.
Tradfest 2019 – Friday 25th until Sunday 27th January
Ireland’s largest festival of Traditional Irish music finishes this weekend, so be sure to immerse yourself in Irish culture! There are many activities on including:
– Carlos Núñez – Dublin Castle, Friday 8.30pm
– Cathy Davey – St. Michan’s Church, Friday 8.30pm (between Smithfield & Four Court Luas stops)
– Céilí Fun – The National Wax Museum Plus, Saturday 12-5pm
– Children’s Craft Club – The Ark Temple Bar, The Saturday & Sunday, 12-5pm
– Brian Furlong & Kevin Glackin – The Porterhouse, Sunday 3pm
John O’Callaghan & Giuseppe Ottaviani play Opium Club – Friday 25th January
If you’re up for a night of non-stop dancing and a lover of trance music, then get to Opium Club. Trance DJ duo will play following support acts SeeOSee & Aaron Cullen. Tickets are still available on the door and via Eventbrite at €22.50. Entry is from 10pm via Liberty Lane (parallel to Wexford Street behind Opium) and is strictly over 18s.
Family Rave with Dublin City Mum at Wigwam, Middle Abbey Street – Saturday 26th January
This one’s for all the family! Enjoy your afternoon with the kids at the Family Rave in Wigwam with Dublin City Mum. Teaming up with Bodytonic Music, there are two sessions at 1.30pm and 3.30pm. Expect neon crafts, face painting & bubbles, dancing, jumping and having a lot of fun. This is open to all ages including babies, toddlers & young children. Tickets cost €5 per child accompanied, on the door and via Eventbrite.
Annual Spring Open Day at Irish Writers Centre – Saturday 26th January
At Irish Writers Centre on Parnell Square North, join in for free workshops, tours of the building and lots of information on who they are and what they do! What you can get involved in are prose and poetry creative writing classes, Professional Development Information Session, and Novel Fair Information Session. There is also a tour of the building at 2pm, during which you’ll learn about the beautiful Georgian interior and architecture. World Holiday Show at RDS Simmonscourt – Friday 25th until Sunday 27th January
Find the World Holiday Show in Hall 8 at RDS Simmonscourt this weekend. Taking place from 11am – 5.30pm, tickets only cost between €3-14.
