Fabled 90s band The Fat Lady Sings celebrate the re-issue of their two acclaimed albums Twist (1991) and Johnson (1993) with a very special brace of live shows in Dublin’s Whelan’s in November.
Originally released on EastWest / Atlantic Records and unavailable in physical form for many years, these two classic albums are being re-released by leading Scottish label Last Night From Glasgow on both vinyl and CD, with new artwork and sleeve notes by frontman Nick Kelly.
For the Whelan’s shows, Nick will be joined by original members Tim Bradshaw and Dermot Lynch, plus longtime live collaborators Alastair Artingstall on keyboards and Johnny Boyle on drums.
The Fat Lady Sings’ debut Twist contains such hit singles as Dronning Maud Land, Deborah, Man Scared and the evergreen Arclight, recently voted one of the 50 greatest Irish songs of all time by Irish music critics. Their second album Johnson includes their best-selling single Drunkard Logic plus such classics as Show Of Myself, World Exploding Touch, and the haunting Providence.
Each of the two nights will feature a different setlist of songs drawn from across the band’s two albums.
Tickets for both shows go on sale this coming Monday 10th August at €32.50. A special double ticket for both nights is also available for €55.
