Following a successful fundraiser in Whelan’s at the end of April, some of Ireland’s best loved singer songwriters have come together for another gig to raise much needed funds for the
Stay Human Collective. On Thursday October 9th Brian Brannigan from a lazarus soul, Nina Hynes, Alice Jago, Arrivalists and some other luminaries of the Irish music scene will perform – plus a
VERY SPECIAL GUEST will help sing all our cares away! Host for the night will be
Hayden Cassidy. The incredible album ‘Your Lies Can’t Hide the Truth’ released by
Stano in memory of Hind Rajab, will be available to buy in cd format and a single by
Stefan Murphy will be launched at the event. All proceeds will go to the Stay Human Collective.
The Stay Human Collective is
a grassroots mutual aid initiative which emerged when a small group of Irish, Italian, English and Palestinian family and friends began emergency crowdfunding to provide food, water, and essential supplies for families in
Northern Gaza. Through donations and fundraisers by friends, including the band a lazarus soul, it quickly evolved into something more powerful: education as a form of hope.
In September 2024, the Stay Human school was born – a community-led project offering Arabic, English, Mathematics, and now Science. What started as 40 students in a damaged building, has grown to over 120 children in rooms that are accessible for those with additional needs. As of today, around 30 of the students have been orphaned due to Israel’s relentless attacks and blockade. Beyond academic learning, the space provides a psychologically supportive environment where children can build friendships, play, and heal.
Many individuals and groups, as well as musicians and acts including Sack, Mundy, Alice Jago, Novatone, The Brilliant Trees, Stefan Murphy, Kevin Gildea, Jem Mitchell, Dee Mulrooney (Growler) and Stano, have kept the school going with their ongoing support.
The Stay Human Collective believes in community-led solutions built on solidarity, not charity.
