Dublin band SACK play Whelans Xmas gig to round off a great year.
It’s been a great 2025 for Dublin Indie band Sack, teaming up with the German record company, GMO- The Label, to release the band’s critically acclaimed comeback album Wake Up People! in Germany with other European territories (and Japan) to follow. 2026 will see another vinyl release in early Spring followed by some dates in Europe.
The album – described by Irish Times music critic Tony Clayton Lea as “the best comeback album by any band of their generation. It sounds as ‘right now’ as any Indie Rock act I can think of” – was their first release since 2002 and ended up in many critics Album of the Years lists including Tom Dunne’s Irish Examiner Top 6 records of ‘24, Golden Plec, Mail On Sunday, Thin Air, The Goo, Dublin City FM, 8 Radio and many others.
Sack will have copies of their new double A side single of Unmade Bed Of A Man and As One on special limited edition 7″ vinyl single available to buy at the show. Both tracks are taken from Wake Up People! and remastered specifically for this release by two time Grammy award winner Guy Massey (The Beatles Remasters, Richard Hawley, Spiritualized, Oasis).
