As lead singer, guitarist and songwriter of indie rock band The Belgian Blue, Pádraig Mac Mahon has created a sound and songwriting style that moulds modern indie rock, alt-country and folk with traditional Irish folk influences.
Born and raised in Wicklow on the east coast of Ireland, since 2022 he has been a prominent and loud voice in the Viennese indie music scene, playing sold out shows while recording and releasing two singles and an ep -“Summersweeps”- as part of his band, as well as writing and recording solo work set to be released in the coming year.
In May 2025, his band was invited to play with Glen Hansard as part of The Swell Season’s concert at Wiener Konzerthaus, and has gained lofty praise from much of the Irish and Austrian music scene for his incisive songwriting and passionate live performances.
