Opera In The Open 2019
Lunchtime just got more interesting with Opera In The Open taking place every Thursday for the month of August, 2019.
The popular event is returning to the Amphitheatre, Wood Quay starting on August 1st from 1pm - 2pm with Mozart’s masterful ‘The Impresario’. Immerse yourself in colourful and dramatic mini opera performances that are free to attend.
Brought to you by Dublin City Council, Opera in the Open is celebrating its 20th season this summer. This year's programme presents the rich operatic works of Mozart, Stravinsky, Donizetti and Gounod. Performers will transform into dramatic characters in colourful costumes to take the audience into a world of thrilling theatrics. Performers for this season include outstanding soprano singer Sandra Oman, Simon Morgan, bass-baritone Rory Dunne, soprano Sylvia O’Brien, Owen Gilhooly and well-known actress Mary McEvoy who also directs a number of performances.
Dublin City Council advises people to get there early as over 1,000 generally attend each powerful performance.
