Look Back in Anger
John Osborne’s blistering play Look Back in Anger runs at the Gate from February 1st until March 24th.
Sixty years after it first electrified audiences and sparked a generation of “angry young men”, John Osborne’s seminal ‘Look Back in Anger’ arrives at the Gate Theatre.
Directed by award-winning Irish director Annabelle Comnyn, Osborne’s fierce examination of class tells us the story of the troubled marriage of frustrated college dropout Jimmy Porter and his upper class wife Alison. When Alison invites her friend to stay with them, their tentative balance is disrupted and things threaten to boil over.
Playwright and spoken word artist Emmet Kirwan will perform a response to the play as part of the Gate after Dark series at selected dates.
Part of the Gate’s ‘Outsider’ season, don’t miss this chance to catch Osborne’s searing play in this excellent new version!
