Dublin’s newest folk festival, showcasing some of the best up and coming artists in the Irish folk scene. 

About the artists:

Ispíní na hÉireann: Ispíní na hÉiereann is a four-piece Irish punk folk band, lead by front men Adam J Holohan and Tomás Mulligan, and joined by cellist and fiddle player Aongus MacAmhlaigh and the saxophone and Uilleann Pipes player Pádraig Óg Mac Aodhagáin. The lads create and play music that is a combination of original songs and reimagined covers and tunes, all influenced by the Irish musical tradition.

Cormorant Tree Oh: Mary Keane, alias Cormorant Tree Oh, is a multi-disciplinary artist and musician from Dublin, Ireland. She interweaves the sonic with the visual to create a distinct world, taking inspiration from folk, psychedelia, horror soundtracks and nature field recordings. Mary released her first self-titled album back in 2018. She later went on to sign with Trapped Animal Records who put out her second album ‘Swoontide’ in 2022. Her third album is set for release later this year. 

We’re Not Together:  We’re Not Together released their eponymous debut recording in October 2023 after a hugely successful Kickstarter, backed by just under 100 people. With contributions on the EP from Phil Christie on keyboards, Chris Barry on bass, Donal Bowens on Drums and Aoife Kelly on fiddle, the 6-track EP has a diverse and wide-ranging dynamic within the folk and soft rock genres. Following on from a sold-out EP launch in the Bello Bar Dublin, January 2024 saw the duo with another full-band performance at Whelan’s ‘Ones to Watch 2024’ and a  stripped-back performance at the iconic Dublin folk showcase Ruby Sessions in March 2024. 

The Wran: Emerging from the Comeragh’s of County Waterford, Ireland, Brothers—Tommy, Danny, Sean, and Stephen Dunford—form the heart of the brand-new trad fusion band THE WRAN. Inspired by the likes of Moving hearts, Lankum, Planxty, and the Mary Wallopers, The Wran united to form their band, infusing traditional Irish tunes with contemporary folk nuances. At the helm of the vocals are Stephen and Danny, but all 4 brothers join in harmony. Their sound is built upon banjo, acoustic guitar, accordion, electric guitar, bass and drums, (to name a few). 

White Noise: White noise are a doom folk band based in Dublin.They were started on new years day 2023 and since then they have been honing their art and have created beautiful, unsettling sound scapes along with reimagining of folk songs.

Seán Birkett: Seán Birkett is a singer/songwriter based in Dublin, Ireland and takes inspiration from many genres, none more than the folk rock of the 1970s.  His unique take on folk stems from his familiarity with his instrument and is one of the most promising new folk rock artists in Dublin.
