Dublin-born singer-pianist Rudi Douglas brings his acclaimed, piano-led reimagining of Kylie Minogue’s music to The Sugar Club on Thursday 19 November, following a remarkable musical encounter with the pop icon earlier this year.
In May 2026, singer-pianist Rudi Douglas found himself sharing an unforgettable musical experience with Kylie Minogue at the launch of her Netflix documentary. What began with Douglas performing for the global pop star evolved into an impromptu musical exchange, with Minogue joining him at the piano during “Better the Devil You Know” before he went on to accompany her on several of her songs. Across the evening, Douglas performed “Come Into My World” and “Say Something” for Minogue, accompanied her on “Love at First Sight”, “Dancing” and “The Loco-Motion”, and shared the spontaneous moment that would go on to inspire his next creative chapter.
Footage from the occasion attracted more than 1.2 million views combined on social media. Now, Douglas brings Kylie: In My Eyes to The Sugar Club in Dublin on Thursday 19 November, transforming that experience into an intimate solo show celebrating the music that has soundtracked so many lives.
Rather than a conventional tribute show, Kylie: In My Eyes offers a deeply personal perspective on Minogue’s catalogue. Through expressive piano arrangements and dynamic vocals, Douglas reimagines over 20 of Minogue’s songs, drawing out their emotional depth and revealing new dimensions in familiar pop classics, all performed on a Steinway grand piano.
For Douglas, the project is about more than the songs themselves. It explores the personal memories, emotions and experiences that become entwined with music, and the ways in which a lifelong connection to an artist can enrich our own lives.
A Dublin native now based in London, Douglas works across live music, cabaret and theatre. His performance credits include Glastonbury, Latitude and Wilderness festivals, the National Theatre and Soho Theatre, alongside events for international brands including Spotify, TikTok, Netflix and Jean Paul Gaultier. His London premiere of Kylie: In My Eyes at Bistrotheque sold out.
Following that successful debut, Douglas now brings the show home to Dublin for a special performance at The Sugar Club, offering audiences the chance to experience Kylie’s music through a fresh, intimate and distinctly personal lens
