About the Book
Eden’s Shore is a sprawling, ambitious historical novel set at the close of the eighteenth century. The story follows Angel Kelly, a young Irishman who sets sail from Liverpool with dreams of founding a utopian commune in Brazil. Before he reaches his destination, a mutiny aboard ship leaves him and his crew stranded on the coast of an unnamed Spanish colony in Latin America. In the aftermath, Kelly becomes caught up in a series of crises that lead to displacement, rebellion and a deadly game of cat-and-mouse between competing empires. Through vivid characters, the novel explores greed, revenge, love and human ambition against a backdrop of global upheaval and colonial power struggles.
