Hailing from Cork, Bowden are an alt-rock five-piece whose melodic lyrics, crunching guitars and cinematic textures have carved a sound that is uniquely their own. Since forming in 2022, the band have been steadily building out a live reputation as one of Ireland’s most exciting new acts. Blending influences from Radiohead, Elliott Smith, Villagers, and Fontaines DC, Bowden’s music explores themes of alienation in a digital world and the break down of human contact.

2025 marks a breakthrough year for Bowden with their singles Be Your Own God, Undertow and Faster earning national airplay on 2FM, with Hot Press and IMRO tipping them as a band to watch. This was confirmed with the release of their stunning debut album ‘Glacier’ a record that channels the band’s explosive live energy, whilst showcasing the band’s creative vision in full. With glowing reviews of Glacier, Bowden are quickly establishing themselves as a powerful new voice in Irish rock.

Having played the likes of Mike The Pies, Fred Zeppelins and When Next We Meet Festival, Bowden are thrilled to be making their Dublin debut at Whelan’s this October.

“It’s a debut that arrives fully formed, confident in its atmosphere and unafraid to linger in ambiguity. There’s a deliberate softness to every choice, a refusal to resolve things neatly — and that’s precisely where its strength lies” – Rotate Magazine
