Bewley’s FREE Tour on St. Patrick’s Day
Bewley’s Grafton Street are not only celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th 2019, but also celebrating the birth of Harry Clarke, celebrating what would be his 130th birthday.
Harry Clarke, born March 17th 1889, is known as Ireland's finest stained-glass artist ever. Aidan Dunne of The Irish Times notes that Clarke is "generally acknowledged as the country’s leading symbolist artist". Seven of Clareke's wonderful stained-glass windows can be seen in Bewley’s Grafton Street, which are a proud addition to the iconic café, restaurant & theatre.
To celebrate Bewley’s Grafton Street will be running complimentary tours of the beautiful café on March 17th 2019 from 11am until 4pm. Booking is not necessary, though places will be available on a ‘first come first serve’ basis.
Highlights of this tour include 179 years of Bewley’s, 179 of Dublin, beautiful art and artifacts, literature from James Joyce to Maeve Binchy, as well as the craft bakery kitchen and barista team in the heart of Grafton Street.
Bewley's will also be turning the building green for the duration of the festival!
