What’s On in Dublin This Bank Holiday Weekend (August 2-5)
DublinTown features on Dublin City FM every Friday morning to talk about some of the many things happening in the city. If you missed us on air, don’t worry as below are a number of things you can do this weekend in the city.
Free Pizza Slice Party at NoLIta – Friday 2nd August, 5-7pm
NoLIta are getting the Bank Holiday buzz on a little early and they know everyone loves something FREE so they’re giving out a FREE pizza slice to anyone who purchases a drink from 5-7pm tonight! Complete with fun, feel good tunes too! They do ask you to respect the T&Cs in that this offer is limited to one pizza slice per customer.
Summer in DublinTown at Suffolk Street – Saturday 3rd August, 1-5pm
Every Saturday in July and August, DublinTown will have on-street fun activities for all the family to enjoy! This Saturday enjoy giant games like Chess and Jenga, face painting from 2-4pm, colouring competitions. There are also photo opportunities with our four superheroes, our real-life Iron Man as well as joining in on the FunkyCam photobooth car! Taking place from 1-5pm at Suffolk Street, this is a completely FREE activity that’s perfect for a day out before/after lunch.
100th Dublin Liffey Swim – Saturday 3rd August, 12pm
This Saturday is the 100th Dublin Liffey Swim, with Waves 1 and 2 kicking off at 12pm and 1pm respectively. Starting at Rory O’ More Bridge, Sráid Watling, 500 swimmers will make their way down the River Liffey towards O’Connell Bridge and finish at Loop Line Bridge. Come into town and cheer on the swimmers from along the quays as the brave participants will need your support tackling through 2.2km of the tidal section of the Liffey. This year’s centenary also makes the Dublin Liffey Swim now the oldest continuously run annual swimming race in Europe!
Marking the monumental occasion, Damn Fine Print celebrate with a new pop-up gallery at Om Diva, Drury Street for two weeks from August 1st-13th. Commemorating the Dublin Liffey Swim with the help of a number of the best artists and designers in Dublin, this gallery features work by Annie Atkins, Steve Simpson, Niall McCormack, Fuchsia MacAree, Alan Dunne, Conor Nolan, Peter Donnelly, M&E, Steve McCarthy and more.
ABBA Brunch at Farrier & Draper – Saturday 3rd August, 12-4pm
Get ready for a Saturday like no other as Farrier & Draper on South William Street will come alive with the sounds of the 70s! Your €20 brunch ticket includes main course, side and cocktail per person, while all additional cocktails are only €12 for 2. Choose from classic Avocado Toast and Eggs Benedict to Italian stars Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina, Linguine Amatriciana and delicious pizzas too.
