Deirdre Byrne, The Exchange
Deirdre Byrne The Exchange
Did you know that The Exchange has the 2013 National Cocktail Champion behind their bar? Well, yes they do and Deirdre Byrne is also the first female to win this presticious award. That’s impressive! So, of course, we at DublinTown.ie had to pop in and sample her winning Apricot Blossom cocktail and hear her thoughts on her favourite spots going out in Town.
“You have to love Dublin Town. What’s so great about it is that there is always something going on which can be tough in the services industry if you’re missing the great nights out!
A guaranteed fun night out for me would include visiting the Vintage Cocktail Club, feasting in Indie Dhaba on South Anne Lane, which have the best Indian tapas in Town and their cocktails are up there too, or heading to my favourite Mexican restaurant – Acapulco. The Port House is another great spot for dinner with a great wine list and The Grand Social and Cassidy’s are real city gems too. To finish a night off, Whelan’s and The Academy will have you dancing the night away with great events on each week. So, no matter what night of the week I’m off these places have me covered!
The Exchange is of course one of the best places to get a cocktail in Town! I’ve been with The Mint Bar and now The Exchange, in the Westin, for 4 years now and it’s where I’ve nurtured my cocktail making skills and creations. We’re a good team as Karl, the Bar Manager, knows everything there is to know about each and every bottle and Fabrice, Food and Beverage Manager, has your appetites more than covered with the 5 star quality of our food.”
