The Little Museum of Dublin is proud to announce the launch of On Dublin: Reflections on the Irish Capital, a brilliant new publication written by author and renowned journalist Louise East, with stunning photography provided by Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Deanne Fitzmaurice.
On Dublin offers an insider’s portrait of life in the Hibernian metropolis, capturing life in a city that is as complex, creative and charismatic as the people who call it home. Accompanied by visual narrative photography on the subtle but permeating buzz around Dublin, the book encapsulates a Dubliner’s connection with the city, spanning strolls through the Moore Street markets to morning sea swims at Portmarnock beach.

Speaking on the imagery, Deanne Fitzmaurice said “In these photographs I sense all the impressions I got there myself: the periodic squawk of gulls, music wafting from a busker down a side street, skid of a horse’s hooves as it approaches an intersection too fast for its driver’s liking, the smell of fresh-cut flowers and stale beer and fish and chip grease, the salty sea.”

Speaking on the book, Louise East, author of On Dublin, said today “Dublin is such a layered city. You peel off one story, and find another underneath. I’ve always loved the city and looking at it with fresh eyes was fascinating.”
On Dublin is available for purchase online at littlemuseum.ie and in the Little Museum bookshop from 10th February.
