With Christmas fast approaching, so is the incoming festive feast, and the only thing better than that (arguably) is the leftover sandwich that comes soon thereafter, but if you just can’t fight the craving (trust me, I get it) here are the best shops that sell Christmas sandwiches before St. Stephen’s Day.
1. Griolladh:
- Griolladh has multiple stores that can be found in One Central Plaza, Arnotts and they also have a location on Middle Abbey Street.
- Their Crambo Toastie is made on malted sourdough bread, with vintage cheddar, Griolladh sauce with crunchy chips and their gravy dip. As well as the classic ham, turkey, stuffing and onions, of course.
2. Disndat:
- Disndat is an esteemed Irish pub located on Dame Court.
- Even better than the live music, fresh pizzas, board games and cocktails is their gorgeous Christmas sambo. They have a deal going on for the Christmas season where you can buy the Christmas toastie and a pint together for only 10 quid!! ad if that’s not a deal to jump at then I don’t know what is.
3. Little Geno’s:
- Little Geno’s is located at Smyth House, unit 6-7, St. Stephen’s Green.
- Little Geno’s is partnered with Jamesonto bring this festive masterpiece with sourdough bread, roast turkey, ham cooked with some Jameson, stuffing, brie and some gravy for dipping.
4. Tram Café:
- The Tram Café is found in Wolfe Tone Park on Jervis Street.
- Their Christmas sandwich has turkey, gammon, brie, stuffing, cranberry sauce and mayo on soft white bloomer bread.
5. The Stag’s Head
- The Stags Head is a traditional Irish pub on Dame Court.
- The inside is covered in beautiful traditional decor, but even more beautiful than the pints and building is their Christmas sandwich, which comes with roast turkey, glazed ham, mixed leaves, crispy stuffing, with a slice of gravy glazed bread in the middle, it also comes with a portion of their rustic chips.
6. Café en Seine:
- Café en seine is located on Dawson Street across from The Mansion House.
- Their sammy comes with Turkey, mortadella, brie, sage and onion stuffing, jalapeño relish and rocket.
7. Peaches:
- Peaches is an Irish owned restaurant that you can find on Dame Street.
- Their festive sandwich has turkey, baby spinach, stuffing and cranberry mayonnaise on granary bread.
