Supersavers Opticians is making an impact on Talbot Street after renovating their shop front and interior bringing a new customer experience to their clients.

Earlier this year, Supersavers Opticians owner, Jon Munro, was one of a number of businesses who benefited from a grant scheme by Dublin City Council to renovate shop fronts in the area.
“We just had the outside revamped and we are really delighted with how it’s turned out.”
Telling us about the business and what they provide, Jon said: “We have a full optician service here – sight tests, glasses, sunglasses, contact lenses, anything that is needed. When it comes to brands, there’s so much to choose for every budget. Whether it’s a generic frame you want, or brands like Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Kate Spade, Superdry, Nike, we really do cater for everybody.”
When it comes to your eye test, this opticians has some great prices. “If you have an allowance through your PRSI or medical card, you can get a free eye-test. A full eye-test is normally €25 but we have an offer at the moment that if you buy glasses from us, your eye-test is only €5. There’s also an early-bird special, any morning before 11am you can get a full eye-test for only €5.”
People may be surprised that trends do come and go in the world of glasses, and according to Jon, the latest trends they are noticing going through their store is “round eye frames”. “Especially in the plastic at the moment. Also in ladies, the cats-eyes in the plastic frames, darker colours are trending at the moment.
As a growing business on Talbot Street, he said there’s great community spirit. “It’s a very mixed community and that’s why we cater for everybody because you do get everyone on this street.”
