Ireland’s First Ever Art Café Opening This Friday on Dublin’s South William Street
- Tue, 21 Apr 2026
Get ready to trade the pints for paint brushes! After the roaring success of their sold-out workshops, Create & Sip is thrilled to announce the official opening of Ireland’s first-ever permanent Art Café on Friday, April 24th.
Centrally located in the heart of the city at 65 William St South, Dublin 2, this innovative space marks a major milestone for the Irish social scene. While “Art Cafés” have become a cultural staple in global hubs like London and New York, Create & Sip is finally bringing this dedicated creative sanctuary to Dublin’s doorstep.
A New Way to Socialise: Beyond the Pub
In a city where most nights out revolve around the pub, Create & Sip is offering a long-awaited alternative for those looking for something a bit more meaningful than just another drink. Founded in December 2023, the brand began its journey hosting intimate workshops. It quickly exploded through word of mouth, building a loyal community of people hungry for a “different” way to spend their evenings.
The concept is a departure from traditional hospitality: instead of a food menu, the Art Café menu features a curated selection of creative activities. Guests work at their own pace in a space designed to feel like a “creative night in” at a friend’s house, except everything is set up for you, and the team handles the cleanup.

The Art Café Experience
The Art Café is a relaxed, beginner-friendly space where adults can finally “switch off” and get into their creative flow without the pressure to be “good” at art.
-
Customisable Sessions: Each 2-hour slot allows guests to choose from a creative menu including clay modelling, tile painting, and watercolour, with tickets costing €32 per person.
-
Complimentary Sips: Every ticket includes complimentary tea, with other drink options available to buy in the studio.
-
Guided Workshops: Beyond the café sessions, the studio will host signature workshops such as Texture Art, Charm Jewellery, Beaded Jewellery, and Spray Paint Art. Workshop tickets start from €49.
-
Take-Home Art: Facilitators are on hand to guide the process, but guests are free to create in their own style, leaving with a finished piece they made themselves.
Quotes from Ciara Kavanagh, co-founder of Create and Sip
“Create & Sip came from a simple idea, adults don’t really have spaces to just play anymore,” says Ciara. “We’re big believers that creativity isn’t just for kids; it’s one of the easiest ways to switch off and actually enjoy yourself without overthinking it. We wanted to create something social, creative, and genuinely fun, even if you haven’t touched a paintbrush since school.”
