Arnotts Launches Autumn Winter 20 Collections

Arnotts has launched its AW20 womenswear designer collections in-store and online with a pop-up fashion exhibition hosted in ‘The Gallery’ in-store. Showcasing the new Irish and international collections, the exhibition displays an array of retro prints, autumnal hues and streamlined style inspired by elegant, refined dressing. Clara Halpin, Arnotts Head of Personal Shopping, presented an expertly curated edit influenced by a renewed sense of dressing and global trends refined for the Irish woman’s wardrobe. Sustainability continues to maintain a prominent appearance with industry leaders, Fabienne Chapot, Samsoe & Samsoe and Selected Femme exhibiting ageless pieces designed to be worn time and time again. Mary Claffey, Arnotts Womenswear Buyer, said “We are very excited to introduce new collections this season that are chic, nostalgic and emblematic of a new era. This season is all about introducing retro prints and updated silhouettes to your wardrobe while still maintaining a timeless sensibility. We are making conscious decisions with our buys and we are delighted to have new brands leading the force of change like Custommade and their ‘By Numbers’ limited edition collection”.

Considered Comfort

As lifestyles continue to change, luxe easy to wear silhouettes are key without sacrificing on style. Accentuate cosiness in cocooning silhouettes from Marella, Max & Co. and Lauren that envelope the body in comfort and warmth. For statement appeal, experiment with jumbo fleece and fur effect outerwear in softly sculpted shapes. Opt for a warm, tonal palette of grey, white and beige for a sartorial finish.

Soft Retro

Nostalgic soft retro themes emerge this season across Marella, Fabienne Chapot, Gestuz and Polo Ralph Lauren. The vintage inspired story is a treasure trove of classic staples with a plethora of geometric, paisley and abstract prints. Rusty shades of Danish browns create a nostalgic appeal, whilst a palette of bright-cast blues underscore the mood. Outerwear is the statement component with leather trenches, leather blazers and shaggy teddy styles coming to the fore.

Stately Soirée

The grandeur of a stately soiree inspires this partywear story that celebrates decadent dressing. The hero dress is defined by full sleeve silhouettes and flouncy necklines adorned in metallic yarns, jacquards and foil printed surfaces. Winter appropriate taffeta, velvet, tulle and silks are seen across Danish contemporary favourites, DAY Birger et Mikkelsen, Custommade and Samsoe & Samsoe.

Uptown Polish

Workwear is reimagined in the Uptown Polish trend, with Lauren, Hugo and Luisa Cerano introducing archival patterns in heritage checks and after-hours tartan.

Irish Design

Irish design this season sees a soft, fluid femininity in all of the collections. Sheer volume blouses and A-line shapes in a harmonious blend of autumnal hues offer a relaxed look that compliments women of all ages and shapes.
