Exciting new private venue space in Dublin
There’s a new private venue space in DublinTown and we are loving it!
Just seconds away from the bustling high street of Grafton Street, Upstairs @ No: 4 sits over The Corkscrew wine merchants on Chatham Street.
This great addition to the street means those looking for corporate event space, private dining, intimate wedding venue or to celebrate a birthday party have a new space to consider.
Owned by couple Paul and Fiona Foley, they have transformed a dead space into a deadly event venue that hasn’t scrimped on quality and taste.
DublinTown had a sneak peak of this polished space to find out more about it.
Walking us through the newly opened space, Paul, who also owns The Corkscrew Wine Merchant, explained how he and Fiona made sure that the décor was top quality with only the best in show. From quality wood ceilings, yes you read right – a wood ceiling, to Italian porcelain counter table tops, it’s hard not to see just how invested they are in their new space.
“All of the tables were cut to measure and the chairs have Italian brass legs. We didn’t want to do something half way. We said if we are going to do this, lets do it right…. This place is full of passion and we hope people see it when they come in.
The versatile space has different areas to enable potential customers to tailor it to your event. If you need to block off a room, that is easily achieved thanks to their theatre style curtains.
“Even our lights can be changed around the suit the direction of the table. They are all on hooks that can be put in a straight line for a big long table or bunched together to feature over several tables.
“There’s two eurocave fridges one for long term storage and one for serving. You can do anything you want up here from private parties to wine tastings, weddings or a conference.
Everyone who comes into us has a different idea in their head on how they want to use this space. We will work out whatever needs to be done, no matter what it is, we will make it happen.
Even the windows that look onto the newly refurbished pathway of Chatham Street and Grafton Street just moments away, have been restored.
In terms of catering, Upstairs at number 4 is working with Two Cooks of Sallins, owned by another couple Nicola and Josef Zammit.
“They saw the space and fell in love with it straight away. They already do business with us so they said we want to be your caterers. They will look after the cooking for events,” he added.
However, anyone looking to cook their own food for an event can do so thanks to their full-sized industrial kitchen that sits at the behind the main room.
“Once you take it [the space] over, it’s yours… It’s really private. We absolutely love it and we are hoping everyone who walks in will love it just as much as we do.
“This has been in my head for about 6 years and when the opportunity came up for it, I just took it. We started work in February and now it’s here.
