How to Volunteer for Bram Stoker Festival 2017
Have you ever danced with the Devil in the pale moonlight?
..I ask that of all my volunteers. Ireland’s very own ‘American Horror Story’ – Bram Stoker Festival returns for it’s sixth season this October Bank Holiday Weekend (27th – 30th) with it’s own army of monsters, ghouls and ghosts – who for the 4 days of the festival roam the streets of Dublin City bringing to life all things Gothic to the unsuspecting public.
From ‘The Walking Dead’ ( join in and become part of Macnas Street Procession helping them bring their ‘images’ and ‘creature features’ to life as you operate them along side the performers) to ‘The Theatre of Macabre’ volunteers get involved in all aspects of the festival from behind the scenes to out front in the parades and ‘haunted’ venues they work closely with the artists and public alike – from front of house to social media, from make up & costume assistance to stewarding at our outdoor events – there is something for everyone keen to see what it takes to bring a festival of this size to the streets of Old Dublin.
This year sees World Premieres and New Scores, Old Revivals to Immersive One of Interactive Experiences, Family Friendly to Adult Scares – a truly ‘terrifyingly, infectious opportunity to being part of this bank holidays Carnival of Souls. Once bitten it is very hard to shake off this volunteering bug. Surrender and join our army -‘Listen to them, the children of the night. What music they make!’- Bram Stoker
