The saying goes that once you’ve shared a meal with someone, you’ve made a friend for life – speaking volumes about the universal appeal of food. Whether it’s sharing a restaurant recommendation or even just a recipe, this is your chance to use Twitter to connect on this tasty topic – food.
This year, Twitter will join forces with some of the biggest chefs and restaurants in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany and Spain to celebrate #FoodFriday on Friday, 12 June.
What to expect?
#FoodFriday will bring together some of Europe’s top culinary professionals and institutions to share recipes, offer behind-the-scene tours of some of the continent’s most renowned kitchens, serving as the platform to discover a wealth of exclusive food-related content.
What does #FoodFriday look like?
#FoodFriday will provide food lovers with a whole day of unmissable content, with participants sharing new ideas at key points throughout the day:
- Morning: Restaurants and chefs will be encouraged to provide their followers with an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of their kitchen, looking at their larder, highlighting their favourite ingredients and sharing stories from inside the kitchen
- Mid-day: When stomachs across Europe start grumbling in anticipation of lunch, participants will share images of their favourite meals and that day’s menu, teasing their followers with delicious-looking treats – as well as recommendations for the best undiscovered lunch spots
- Afternoon: As #FoodFriday comes to a close, restaurants and chefs taking part will treat followers to useful tips, sneaky tricks and special last-minute offers
