Explore the city with help from Dublin Visitor Centre
The Dublin Visitor Centre is your one-stop shop for information on what to do in this great city, offering tourists from home and abroad personal insights into how to explore the city.
Opened in March 2013, the first centre on O’Connell Street was later joined by 3 other centres including their flagship centre on Grafton Street. The main goal for the company is to help customers create their own local experience during their time here. Recommendations on things to do vary from customer to customer because the team focus on what interests and hobbies each individual is interested in.
“Our top 5 (recommendations) changes from one customer to another as every customer we get is different. We love to create different and individual experiences depending on the wants and needs of our customers,” Karla Dragic, Team leader of Dublin Visitor Centre said.
The main goal is that we help customers create their own Local Experience. To have each customer leave the office with a smile on their face, knowledge about the Dublin and a clear idea of the places they would like to see while in Dublin.
“Not only do we make sure to say to the people about free attractions, we have also marked all the free places on our interactive maps with little yellow dots” she added.
There really is nothing better than getting local references for places to go and when it comes to the team giving their favourites, Karla said: “When it comes to pubs I’d say we are up for Porterhouse Central, The Foggy Dew and Fibbers/Living room. In the summer, on a rare sunny day we all like to go to Trinity College and just sit on the grass and have fun. We love to go to the attractions when we are invited and discover new places in Dublin. We love to get ourselves familiarized with all the good Dublin has to offer.” By doing this the team have first-hand knowledge of the places they are recommending which they say makes for better references.
