The much-anticipated Dawson Street shop will serve the great tasting products that Pret is known for, including fresh handmade food and organic coffee and teas, all prepared in the shop’s onsite kitchen daily. Coffees and other hot drinks will be prepared by top baristas and any alternative milks will be included free of charge for customers.

The Irish shop is expected to welcome 10,000 customers across its opening week, serving them a range of items from flakey, just out of the oven croissants, delicious and filling baguettes, coffees and seasonal salads. The menu will have something for everyone from vegan, veggies and flexis, to enjoy.

At the end of each day, the new shop’s freshly made surplus food will be donated through The Pret Foundation to Depaul Dublin, helping to support the charity’s vision to alleviate homelessness and changing the lives of those affected by it.

Mikey Mulqueen, Dublin Operations Manager, says: “The team are working hard on the final touches at the shop to ensure we are ready to welcome our first customers across our opening weekend. Following months of planning and preparation, I speak for the entire team when I say we are excited to open our doors and to provide our customers with the signature friendly Pret experience with great tasting food and coffee”.

Commenting further, Guy Meakin, Interim UK and Ireland Managing Director at Pret A Manger, says: “Today marks a special brand milestone as the Irish team complete the finishing touches to our first Republic of Ireland shop. Together with our franchise partners and local store team we are very much looking forward to the shops official opening this Friday”.

The shop will create 25 new jobs and is the first of 20 Pret shops set to open across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland over the next decade, creating approximately 500 jobs.
