A Food Lover’s Playground Awaits at Taste of Dublin 2018
Get your taste buds ready, because this June the Taste of Dublin 2018 food & drink festival returns and it promises a lot of tasty treats for everyone.
Back home to the stunning Iveagh Gardens off Harcourt Street, this year Taste of Dublin is creating a ‘Food Lover’s Playground’ which is inspired by Neff. Foodies from across the nation will flock to the capital to taste what’s hot and what’s new, from the 14th-17th June.
As it takes place over the weekend, it’s a great excuse to bring the kids into town or gather your friends for a day out as the sun will shine on the festival’s many activities ahead. The theme has been warmly welcomed by the restaurants and sponsors who are a part of Taste of Dublin 2018, dreaming up their playground plans from cocktails on the top floor of a wooden tram to an entire menu composed of food in various shades of pink.
Special chef guests will include Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown, Rachel Allen and Rory O’Connell of Ballymaloe, as well as Aoife Noonan of Glovers Alley & Luna, Executive Chef Anna Haugh who frequents on Saturday Kitchen Live, Head Chef Sunil Ghai of renowned restaurant Pickle, Ed Cooney of The Merrion Hotel, TV chefs Edward Hayden and Adrian Martin, Kevin Dundon of Dunbrody House, food stylist & author Sharon Hearne-Smith, and Masterchef judge Robin Gill.
This year will also see the biggest ever demo stage, ‘The Neff Taste Kitchen’, where attendees will have the opportunity to watch their favourite culinary idols, including famed celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, cook their best recipes, inspiring to then recreate the dishes at home. While ‘The Producers Table’ will also showcase some of Ireland’s finest food producers.
But it’s not all about food as the World Class programme, which is committed to celebrating and elevating the craft of bartending, will join forces with Taste of Dublin to bring a host of luxurious drinks experiences to the festival. From innovative cocktails and masterclasses to the prestigious final of the World Class Bartender of the Year Competition, where one winner will be crowned live on stage at Iveagh Gardens.
Entertainment will be on hand too, as Simon Lamont hosts a brand new experience entitled ‘The Lazy Basics’ to teach handy tips & tricks to impress friends & family at your next dinner party – in only 20 minutes! Family attractions include inspirational games and face painting
Commenting on this year’s festival, Managing Director Avril Bannerton says that “Taste of Dublin is a four-day gastronomic experience that brings so many styles of food and experiences together. It really is the ultimate food lover’s playground!”
