There’s something for everyone coming up this weekend (23-25th of Feb) in the City!
Each week, DublinTown are on the airwaves on the Friday edition of the Good Morning Dublin show on Dublin City FM. In case you missed it, here’s what you can do this weekend:
Mother Tongues Festival
A new, unique festival is coming to Dublin this Saturday in the Outhouse on Capel Street to mark UNESCO International Mother Language Day. The Mother Tongues festival will feature performances, poetry readings and workshops for all ages in over 15 different languages.
The Festival is brought to you by an Irish organization, Mother Tongues who supports families who wish to raise bilingual children. Some of the languages featured are Irish, Japanese, Polish and Chinese along with many others. The festivals unique feature is that it allows artists and performers to display their talents in their native language when interacting with the audiences.
Some of the events taking place include an Art Workshop ‘In my own words’ for Romanian speaking teenagers and a Japanese Origami Workshop for English Japanese speaking children from the age of 10+ years. To see a full list of the programme, click here.

Wild Beauty Event at Brown Thomas
Brown Thomas are bringing a brand new pop up to its carpark rooftop! The event began on Thursday the 22nd February and runs for 18 days across all stores. The events will include masterclasses, discussion panels with leading insiders such as Sali Hughes.
This Sunday between 12-1pm, wellness coach, Alison Canavan will be in store talking all things health and wellbeing. They’ll also have Zest at work will also be on site 11:30am – 1pm providing 10 minute complimentary massages for attendees. Best of all, this event is free and all you have to do is register online!

The Laughter Lounge is Ireland’s premier comedy venue, they have a new line up each week with shows running every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. This weekend they’re bringing you Cutting Edge Comedy. Featuring laughter lounge favorites Rory O’Hanlon, Eric Lalor, Peter Flanagan and Ian Coppinger who all have a different set of skills making the show sharp and witty with a mixed bag of jokes and punchlines.
Ticket prices start from €26.00 incl. booking fee. Doors open at 7pm and you can get a free cocktail before 7.30pm! The show ends at 11pm but there’s music and a late bar for you to enjoy after. For further information, click here.

Now in its 16th year, Audi Dublin International Film Festival brings the world’s best films to Dublin including seven World Premieres and a total of over 100 features, most of which are receiving their Irish Premiere. The Festival will take place until the 4th of March. They’ve got a jam packed programme with lots of variety every night. Tonight in The Light House, they’re showing ‘Never Steady, Never Still’, ‘In the Fade’ , ‘Revenge’ along with many others. Cineworld are also showing films as part of the festival including ‘The Divine Order’, ‘The Guardians’ and ‘Write When You Get Work’ this Saturday.
