The Rollin’ Stoned at The Academy
A Rock'n'Roll Circus is coming to town, everything seems to be ready...is everyone ready?
Rock'n'roll is truly coming to Dublin as London band The Rollin' Stoned follow renowned rock band The Rolling Stones to Ireland this weekend, kicking off on Friday night. Playing at The Academy the night after The Stones play Croke Park, relive the epic moments and the rockin' music with the best tribute band to the greatest rock'n'roll band the world has known.
On Friday May 18th, The Rollin' Stoned start their Irish tour in the capital, followed by Leisureland Galway on Saturday 19th and The Limelight Belfast on Sunday 20th.
Fans of The Stones have praised this tribute band for their authenticity, who are now in their 20th year performing on stage. Not only do the fans of the original rate The Rollin’ Stoned so highly, but also the people in the know. Keith Richards' own mother, Doris, has described the band as "outstanding" and that they are fit to "stand in for the Stones".
Promising Irish audiences a two-hour show, which will include all of the classic hits as well as spruced-up versions. The Rollin' Stoned will also dive into the archives of The Stones, to satisfy many of the demanding number one fans. Enthused rock star photographer, Gered Mankowitz, states that The Rollin' Stoned are", and that they are "just like the real thing!" Having worked with The Stones themselves, Jimmy Hendrix and also Kate Bush, that is some very high praise for the Londoners.
Charismatic and enigmatic, frontman Mick Jaguar brings the same amount of mad magic to their performances as the legendary Mick Jagger, pointing out that with a Rollin Stoned show, the costumes are shamelessly camp, gaudy and absolutely fab, the instruments genuinely vintage and the wit irreverent. However while the tongue is never far from the cheek we make sure it is never to the detriment of the music."
The seven-piece band has also been praised by Keith Richards' daughter Angela, who says it's "like watching my dad"! If you missed out on tickets for Croke Park, or want to relive the whole night again for a fraction of the price, ensure you've nabbed tickets to The Academy today.
