Street Style in #DublinTown – April
According to many Dublin folk, denim jackets, beards and checkered shirts are said to reign as the prevailing style of our fair city..
We joined street style photographer Elaine Castro for a gander around the streets to check the seriousness of this accusation! Surprisingly, when we hit the streets, we were greeted by a mirage of fabrics and colours far beyond the checkered shirts..
Seconding the notion that most of Dublin is clad in checkered shirts and denim jackets is Barton who wears a Penneys top and H & M jeans.
What he thinks about Dublin Style? ‘It’s lame. There’s this so called individuality and yet everyone dresses the same.’
Sadhbh wears a jacket from H&M while younger sister Kaila wears a jacket from Penneys.
What they think about Dublin style: ‘It’s cute! We love it.’
Pauline from France wears a jacket from Versatile
What she thinks about Dublin style: ‘It’s similar to France but it definitely has its own unique style.’
Annie wears Top shop jeans, a Zara jacket and a Chloe handbag from Brown Thomas.
What she thinks about Dublin style: ‘I like it. There’s a bit of a mix which is really nice.’
Az wears H&M, Owen wears a Top Man jacket, Zara sweater and H&M jeans and Casper wears a Tommy Hilfiger hoodie and River Island jeans.
What they think of Dublin style: ‘ It’s unreal. You can pretty much wear whatever you want, it’s the best!’
Aoife wears a Zara jacket and top, bag and shoes all from Penneys.
What she thinks of Dublin style: ‘I like it. It’s a nice mix of everything so you can pretty much wear what you want.’
Viktor wears a jacket and suit from Zara.
What he thinks about Dublin style: ‘It’s on and off but sometimes you can find some great hidden gems.’
Gideon Rowan wears House Of Fraser and Hollister and Nicole Holland wears a Hollister sweater and a tracksuit top.
What they think of Dublin style: ‘It’s great anything goes really which we love.’
Michael wears All Saints jeans and a H&M t shirt.
What he thinks of Dublin Style: ‘I’m not sure but I do like it!’
Rosie wears a H&M jacket and River Island jeans, Roisin wears a Penneys jacket and H&M jeans, Katie wears all Penneys and Niamh wears a Penney’s jacket and H&M jeans.
What they think of Dublin style: ‘It’s pretty easy going, there’s not any particular style really and that’s a nice thing.’
