STAR TREK PARTY @ LIGHT HOUSE CINEMA
Written by The Light House Cinema hosted a pre Star Trek screening party for all viewers of the midnight screening last night. From fancy dress to quizzes to futuristic-esque music you name it, it was there and die hard fans of course .
The pre-party made it quite obvious who the target audience was and that was the Trekkies of course. This kind of made me a little anxious never having watched anything Star Trek EVER.
But that anxiety was for NOTHING! Director JJ Abrahms gave us a beautiful film. The visuals were so inciting and even the 3-D although post-converted was visually stunning and not distracting.
The plot was easy to follow although it did feel like it went pretty fast in a 2.5 hour film. They do say time flies when you’re having fun…
The movie was also not just action-based but had quite a lot of humor that lightened the mood and kept the audience constantly interested, and also just the right amount of heart.
I even shed a tear when ….. No no I won’t spoil anything.
It is definitely a must watch for everyone, devout Trekkie or a newbie like myself.
