The Morgan Hotel Reopens Following €15 Million Redesign
One of Dublin’s favourite hotels has reopened its doors following a wondrous €15 million redesign, say hello to the refresh of The Morgan Hotel.
Having closed at the beginning of this year, The Morgan Hotel on Fleet Street saw an incredible €15 million investment to refurbish, redesign and add another floor to its already popular city centre structure. Last week in late July 2018, the hotel reopened with 39 new bedrooms, an eye-catching entirely new fifth floor, and link building designed by Cobbe Architecture who were the lead consultant on the project.
The Morgan Hotel now has a total of 168 bedrooms, each room elegant and spacious with contemporary design, free Wi-Fi within, comfortable and luxurious beds, and are fully air conditioned too. The perfect room to relax in after a long day exploring Dublin Town. Each room is also equipped with SuitePad technology, a clever tablet which enables guests to order room service, a drink from the bar, laundry service or indeed helps with any query they may have during their stay, including information on the city.
With the continuing shortage of guest rooms in Dublin City Centre, we are delighted to be able to open the new Morgan Hotel today with a now increased capacity of 168 new stylish and contemporary designed bedrooms.” – Declan Curtis, General Manager of The Morgan Hotel
The hotel also now features new public spaces and three new dining options: 10 Fleet Street Restaurant, The Lobby Lounge and 10 Fleet Street Bar. The restaurant is inspired by and styled on a New York Supper Club, that will showcase Irish produce and will be seafood centric while also offering steak and signature dishes, open from 6.30-10pm every day.
The redesign of the elegant Lobby Lounge will welcome patrons for coffee, tea and pastries from 7.30am that’s an ideal spot for a business meeting or morning catch ups.
The 10 Fleet Street Bar has been given a facelift too, with a stunning mirror ceiling, more table options, high stools along the bar and middle area, and a copper and gold colour scheme – making the bar perfect for an aperitif or post-dinner drink.
“We’ve undertaken a complete redesign of the ground floor. Inspired by the vibrant Art Deco period, the hotel’s unique design features were created by the leading architect Nikki O’Donnell (NODA) and we believe we have created a real stylish urban retreat in the bustling city centre,” continues Curtis.
Following a huge number of contractor jobs created during this redesign, the hotel now employs 120 staff.
